I watched the adaptation film of The Fault In Our Stars five years ago. Like many other people, I watched the film without having read the book. I remember always telling myself that I would get around to reading the book just so I can see how accurately the depiction of the book was done in the movie. Unfortunately, I never did. I always procrastinated reading the book. Perhaps because I already knew the story and the sad ending. Nevertheless, this year I did get a chance to read the book (yes, five years later. Boys and girls, do not procrastinate).
Before commencing this read, I posted on my Bookstagram page a query to my fellow book lovers wanting them to tell me some of the movie adaptations they have seen that actually did justice to the books they are derived from. The Fault In Our Stars got a huge vote and so immediately I finished reading this book, I re watched the film. I have to say, I do agree that the movie did the book justice.
For the reason that this is one of the already well loved books globally, I decided not to do my usual book review on it. The story is meticulously written in a way that will have you engrossed from start to finish. You will have some laugh-out-loud moments. You will have moments where your heartstrings will be pulled. But all in all? You will enjoy the book. Instead, I decided to highlight my favorite quotes from the book. I hope you enjoy them.
If you’ve not read this book yet, I encourage you to do so. It doesn’t matter whether you already watched the movie, I assure you, you’ll love it.
